Glascoed Residential Home provides 24 hour care for Elderly people in a caring and friendly manner.

Our aim is to make every residents life worth living, we do this in many ways but mostly we apply common sense.

What we do not do is sit and hold your hand and patronise you. Everyone is treated as an individual and with respect.

There are 2 levels of care provided.

1. Low dependency: This level of care is for people that can manage most tasks for themselves but want to live in Residential Care for personal reasons.

2. High dependency:This level of care is for people who cannot look after themselves i.e they cannot wash, feed or dress themselves. All residents are treated with dignity and respect. Their likes and dislikes are catered for.

Glascoed is inspected by The Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales at least twice a year.

One visit is announced and one is unannounced. All inspection reports are available at the home or by contacting the inspection team at the following address:

Some weeks before the announced inspection all residents families are given questionairres to fill in and send back to the inspection team. They are asked to suggest ways they think the home can be improved. Since the present owners took over in 1998 we haven't had any sugggestions which may improve the home.

This is not necessarily a good thing, but it means we must be doing something right.
