Glascoed was bought by the present owners Mrs Margaret Bowe and her partner
Mr Pat Cooke in 1998. Since then the home has undergone a programme of complete refurbishment. It has now got
an excellent reputation among the local community and with the local Social Services.
All bedrooms have en-suites. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the residents are
encouraged to bring small pieces of their own furniture, pictures etc..
Two bathrooms at Glascoed have hoists to assist with bathing.
All the food is home cooked, mostly by Mrs Bowe herself, there are fully qualified friendly
staff on duty 24 hours a day.
There is a lovely garden for the residents to sit in.
Regular trips to the theatre, art class on Tuesday in the nearby village of Mochdre, Darby
and Joan club in the same hall on Friday, and church on Sunday.
Transport is provided by Pat for anyone who wishes to take part.
Entertainment in the home is provided by a reputable local group called Someone To Turn To.
This is a great favourite with the residents.
We could go on and on, but we think the best way to find out about our home is to come along
and see us, speak to the residents and or their families.
We strongly recommend you do this as you will get a true picture of Glascoed and how the residents
are looked after, especially when you speak to the residents families.
